Herself Haven started as a new initiative, designed to address the unique needs of a younger audience.
It was founded with the primary goal of educating and empowering young women and those who care for them, especially in the realm of body image challenges. The driving force behind the creation of this community, Steph Smith, a specialist in disordered eating and body image issues.
Our founder's frustration with the current reality has fuelled the foundation of Herself Haven. She recognised that society often waits until the struggle reaches a critical point and then extends support. In her vision, she saw the need for a support platform that could intervene early, altering the course of how teenagers think about themselves and sparing them from waiting till it’s “bad enough”.
Herself Haven is committed to being a transformative platform and aims to change the narrative.
For us, the mission is clear: to reduce the all-consuming preoccupation with one's body and make a life-changing impact.
Herself Haven is the platform that aims to guide young women towards self-trust, encouraging them to find their worth within, rather than seeking external validation.
We believe in liberating minds from the endless comparisons to the idealised images found on the internet.
Along the way, we extend our support to parents, guardians and communities in an informative (and often fun) way!
I have had the privilege of coaching hundreds of women in their 20s to 50s on their journey to achieving food and body freedom.
It's a journey that often leaves me reflecting on the question: What if this support had been available earlier? How many years of life could have been reclaimed from body obsession? How free our headspace would be to truly live our lives.
For us, the mission is clear: to reduce the all-consuming preoccupation with one's body and make a life-changing impact that's needed earlier on. Herself Haven is the platform that aims to guide young women towards self-trust, encouraging them to find their worth within, rather than seeking external validation. We believe in liberating young minds from the endless comparisons to the idealised images found on the internet. Along the way, we extend our support to parents, guardians and communities in an informative and often light-hearted way.
Our platform is a conversational space where women, teens, and their guardians find the guidance and support needed to make informed, intuitive choices tailored to their unique needs.
